Stage One:
StoryFINDING

Shoot Later, Ask Questions First

Before we can tell a great story, we need to listen.
This listening phase is where the seeds of a powerful story are planted.

Story Detecting

Story Detecting is about listening to fully understand and agree upon the objectives of your story, to explore the bigger picture, and look for connections, differences, recurring themes, and underlying patterns that could inspire a great story idea.

Story Casting

Story Casting is where we get to know the personalities with the potential to drive your story - individuals with a deep desire, strong motivations, and qualities that resonate with your target audience.

P IS FOR PROCESS

At the heart of the StoryFINDING process is the search for five essential ingredients every great story needs:

PROBLEM, PEOPLE, PURPOSE, PLACE, and PLOT.

Problem: What is the challenge, the issue, the obstacle that needs to be overcome?

People: Who are the personalities striving to solve that problem?

Purpose: What drives those people?  Here we define our Five Purpose Focus Words that will keep the vision and direction of your story clear at every stage.

Place: What is the Period? Where and what are the potential Locations? What Actions might be taking place? What Props might be used?

Plot: What twists and turns will keep your audience engaged? Here we choose one of Seven Plot Types that best fits with your objectives and a Story Shape that gives us an initial structure to work with.

Now your
story can begin...

Whatever business At the end of our  StoryFINDING phase we have:
